268) Day 36 -- Reason #36 to revolt against Predatory Capitalism: FREEDOM, Part 1: We all value Freedom
As a true Canadian, I have to say first of all, I’m sorry. This is going to hurt.
263) Day 31 -- Reason #31 to revolt against Predatory Capitalism: Manufacturing Consent, Part 3 -- We are in the fight for our lives.
Progressive ideals, of socialism and community, feminism and human rights, gender and cultural diversity, have become, like communism in the 1950s and “radical Islam” of the 2000s’ War on Terror, key targets for attack by the Powerful, in order to quell dissent and control the population.
258) Day 26 -- Reason #26 to revolt against Predatory Capitalism: You can make a difference
You are a courageous, intelligent, beautiful, bad-ass-motherfucker. Let that light shine.
257) Day 25 -- Reason #25 to revolt against Predatory Capitalism: Civil Rights and the Fight for Freedom
So yes, let’s use the connections we have to resist what’s happening. It’s almost 1939 now. We do not want to repeat that history. Remember all the deaths? Remember all the ceremonies we’ve had, our whole lives, honouring those sacrifices?
There has to be a way through this, together. And we HAVE TO stop being complacent.
233) 365 Days, 365 Reasons to Revolt Against Predatory Capitalism: Day 1 -- Reason 1
This goes FAR beyond “left vs. right” politics. This is about basic shit, like Freedom. Human rights. The ability to live in a world of beauty and culture and safety and peace, rather than a prison of control and violence. We are entering humanity’s last stand.
232) The beginning of revolution is knowing what the hell is actually going on: Let's start with the Military-Industrial Complex and how it controls our governments
Civil society at large (i.e., you, me and the rest of us) needs to start learning in-depth about the way that the “state” (i.e., our governments) is controlled by war.
122) All cops are bastards: School shootings, the police, and taking back our society
Now, we are told that the police are “to serve and protect”. That is, to serve and protect us, the public.
My experience has repeatedly shown me this is not true.
108) War, Part 4: Solutions?
It seems to me that war stops only when one of two conditions are met. Neither of these conditions are very likely, or easy. They are definitely easy to critique, easy to dismiss. But the alternative, as we discussed previously, is more war in a world, bristling with weapons, poised on the brink of global ecological collapse. So….yeah, we can have that, or we can figure out which of the following conditions we are most likely to be able to meet.
#Infinity) September 29, 2017 - TurnAround
So…what now?
Well, this marks the end of normal life. The beginning of a rapid global awakening that is unprecedented in history. The people will reinvent the world. And we won’t wait for the politicians and corporations. We will force them.
6) Something Positive
I believe people are yearning to feel hope, joy, love, to unselfconsciously embrace, inhale, and celebrate life. I believe people want to stop passively absorbing and consuming, and instead, becoming ACTIVE PRODUCERS of culture. It’s like, when did we stop painting and drawing and singing and making poetry, so that we could….sit in Starbucks drinking overpriced coffee with our friends? When did going outside get sacrificed to surfing other people’s pics on Facebook?
