243) Day 11 -- Reason #11 to revolt against Predatory Capitalism
Remember Freedom? And Free Speech? You support that right?
When Elon Musk bought Twitter, he told everyone that it was to provide a free speech platform to the world.
So he reinstated the accounts of people like Donald Trump, who spread constant lies, who literally sexually assaulted a person yet claimed he "did nothing wrong" and is accused of doing the same to a couple dozen more, who famously bragged about being able to sexually assault women ("grab 'em by the pussy", were his exact words) because he is rich, who incited an insurrection against his own country, who spread COVID disinformation (Ivermectin!) that ended up killing thousands and thousands and thousands of American citizens. So, rapists, mass murderers through disinformation, and government traitors. A-OK to Elon Musk!
He reinstated people like Jordan Peterson, who spreads outright lies about climate change which is one of the biggest existential threats to human civilization that we are facing, who made fun of a plus-sized model for her looks, who slurs trans people and calls their doctors "butchers", and who constantly warns people that socialist policies, you know, like the ones that Canada has generally advocated for, the ones that make Scandinavian countries the happiest people on the planet, will lead to mass murdering totalitarian regimes. A-OK to Elon Musk!
He reinstated people like the notorious Neo-Nazi, Andrew Anglin, who says all sorts of fucked-up shit. Like, praising Hitler, and like denying that the Holocaust happened. Like, the goal of his organization (he founded the Neo-Nazi site The Daily Stormer), is to "ethnically cleanse White nations of non-Whites and establish an authoritarian government." Like, how he hates women, and "they deserve to be beaten, raped and locked in cages." A-OK to Elon Musk!
All these accounts were deemed A-OK to Elon Musk. Because "FREE SPEECH".
Tragically, outright HATE SPEECH has soared under Musk's leadership, turning Twitter/X into a horrible place, where the hateful and violent are given a megaphone. This has been proven multiple times in analyses of content on "X".
Gee, he REALLY must believe in free speech. Right?
Except, then he censors people like the Vancouver strip club, who posted the pro-Canadian sign in the picture above. Because THAT is "hate speech".
He also seemed to have shadow-banned (i.e., made it impossible to find) Kamala Harris' own campaign page during the election run-up. He has banned/suspended journalists who are "left-leaning" and critical of...Elon Musk.
So let's review -- praising Hitler, shaming models for their looks, ridiculing trans people, causing armed insurrections that kill cops, ethnic cleansing, advocating the rape and caging of women, and causing mass death through lies about a pandemic --- that's not hate speech. (To Elon Musk...)
Being pro-Canadian and saying that you won't become American, IS hate speech (to Elon Musk), supporting Kamala Harris is...well, something undesirable, and criticizing Elon Musk is...bad? -- and so, Elon Musk censors that.
People, these are still the early days of extremist control over YOUR freedom. It gets worse from here. We are entering a hellscape of CONTROL, under the guise of FREEDOM.
Remember 1984, The Ministry of Truth? This is the prison of propaganda and control that is ALREADY being built around us.
Big Tech billionaire ideologues are, in plain sight, taking over our democracies. And controlling what you can say.
Because "Freedom".
