221) I would like to continue to exist, please: The problem of Conservative rhetoric
I don't like slippery slopes that lead to it being illegal for myself to exist.
You know how I'm always going on about "Conservative rhetoric"? And I'm not too keen on it and how it hides nefarious intentions behind nice-sounding words like "family values" and "protecting children" and things like that?
Well, next time you think about Conservative rhetoric regarding "Family Values" and "the moral degradation of society", and "Christianity", and "protecting children", maybe think about Georgia. The country, I mean, not the state.
Although speaking of the heavily Republican states in the US, you know the ones, where they promote conservative Christianity, Family Values, and talk a lot about "the moral degradation of society", you know, where they ban abortions, and censor books in schools, and have state-approved textbooks, and threaten LGBTQ+ rights and things like, maybe think about Georgia, the country.
Why? What's happening in Georgia (the country)? Well, pretty much the same thing that's happening in the Republican States, only they're a step or so ahead of the Republican trajectory. Which incidentally, is the same thing that happened in the early years of Nazi Germany, you know, where they talked a lot about the "importance of family", "the moral degradation of society" and things like that. You know, when they censored books, and banned homosexuality and arrested, imprisoned, tortured and often simply executed gay men, destroyed the world's first major library and institute on sex-research. You know, things like that.
Specifically, google "Georgia LGBTQ bill". Because this just happened, like right this week. And take a look at the RHETORIC (i.e., the words and messages they use). And think about Canadian Conservative rhetoric, and American Republican rhetoric.
So yes, google it. It only takes a minute.
Please.
